WE RECOGNISE THAT VALUING AND PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH WE OPERATE IS CRITICAL TO A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE
We’re committed to growing our business responsibly and sustainably, so we can add value to our customers, company and the wider economy.
LIFE CYCLE IMPACT
To reduce the overall environmental impact of our products and operations we use Life Cycle Assessment to inform future research and product developments.
TREATING WASTE AS A VALUABLE RESOURCE
Cutting waste and reducing water use are priorities. Increasingly we recognise the value of our resources by seeking innovative ways to reuse or recycle them.
REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
We are constantly investigating new ways to tackle our carbon footprint as we strive towards a 30% reduction in our emissions across our manufacturing operations by 2020.
CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR 12 MILLION PEOPLE
We support local and global communities with humanitarian & health, education, design, technology & talent, environment & conservation projects through our 2020 Global Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING
As well as developing sustainable manufacturing operations around the world and ensuring our facilities meet the highest global standards, we are taking a whole new approach to maximise efficiency and minimise waste. We have also made great strides in cutting water usage, energy consumption and waste to landfill.
The valuable insights from our Life Cycle Assessment process have helped us create the most sustainable generation of Land Rover vehicles yet.
LIGHTWEIGHTING
By reducing the weight of a vehicle’s body and components, we can make our cars more efficient and deliver the outstanding performance our customers expect.
USING MORE SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
As a responsible business, we have put in place a long term goal of using sustainable materials such as natural rubber, recycled aluminium and plastics.
INSPIRING TOMORROW’S ENGINEERS
We’re dedicated to giving the next generation of engineers the means and skills to deliver a new wave of innovation. So far over 200,000 children have taken part in our Inspiring Tomorrow’s Engineers programme. We also create opportunities for talented young people to join our Apprenticeship Programmes.
